Mike Scott(3-3) thrilled the fans at The Astrodome as he crafted a no-hit
masterpiece against the New York Mets. The Houston Astros won by a final
score of 8 to 1.
Scott was spectacular. He walked 4 New York batters. What an evening for the
fans. They were on the edge of their seats from the 7th inning on. With
every out, the electricity in the air mounted. Scott recorded 10 strikeouts.
Houston had a total of 15 hits for the game.
Bruce Berenyi(1-4) was the loser. Houston scored big getting 7 runs off him
in 3 and 2/3 innings. 'Scott made us look bad' Davey Johnson said. 'I've
seen a lot of good performances in my time and this one will be tucked away
in my memory bank for a long time to come'
