Mike Scott whiffed 16 batters and right fielder Terry Puhl had 2 base hits at
The Astrodome as the Houston Astros beat the Montreal Expos 2 to
0.

Scott(6-3) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Montreal batters. He didn't allow much, just 5 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings
lowering his ERA to 1.89. Houston had a total of 10 hits for the game.

Jay Tibbs(2-7) took the loss. He surrendered 8 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.
When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Scott offered, 'The fan's
really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up
there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy tonight - of course, it
would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
